During your comprehensive eye examination we perform many tests with tried and true as well as state of the art instruments to give us the most information regarding your eyes. These tests determine which lenses (glasses and/or contact lenses) correct your vision the best, make sure your eyes are working well together, and ensure that your eyes are healthy with no signs of diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, tumors, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes. It is important for us to dilate your eyes during your exam in order to get the best view of as much of the eye as possible because often many health issues do not cause pain or drastic noticeable vision changes, but need to be diagnosed and treated proactively.

The Contact Lens Evaluation applies to current contact lens wearers and is typically performed during the comprehensive eye exam. It includes evaluating how well you are seeing through your current contact lenses, ensuring that the fit of the lenses on your eyes is optimal, and checking if there are any signs that they are interacting negatively with your eyes, resulting in potential harm. If your current contact lenses do not exhibit optimal comfort or vision, we will do our best to refit you with a different prescription or brand to ensure an excellent contact lens experience!

If you have never worn contact lenses and would like to, we can also schedule a contact lens fitting and training, which usually occurs at a separate appointment after the comprehensive eye exam. During this visit, we will fit you with lenses and train you on the proper technique for inserting and removing your contact lenses as well as educate you about how best to take care of your new lenses. If you would like to be fit with contact lenses and have had a recent comprehensive exam with another doctor, we would be happy to help you. In this case, we would like you to bring a copy of your latest prescription with you to the fitting appointment.

Our contact lens evaluation and fitting/training fees include the initial appointment as well as any follow-up visits that may be needed in order to ensure the best vision and comfort. For your convenience, we can order your supply of contact lenses for you and have them delivered next day to our office or directly to your home in 3-5 business days. We also carry certain lenses in stock!

We encourage parents to bring their infants ages 6 – 12 months in for a free infant eye examination. InfantSEE® is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes integral elements to infant wellness. During this visit we will test for visual acuity, excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, evaluate eye alignment, and examine eye teaming ability. We will also assess the health of your baby’s eyes in order to identify any risk factors that may be exhibited during this stage. Vision development and eye health problems can be more easily corrected if treatment is begun early. We have a large exam room where we can comfortably accommodate parents and baby as well as many toys to keep his or her attention during this fun and playful exam.

Functional Vision Evaluation assesses whether a patient can benefit from in-office Vision Therapy sessions. It includes more in depth assessment of tracking, focusing and eye-teaming skills of your visual system. These appointments are typically scheduled in the morning when the patient’s eyes are fresh.

Following the evaluation, Dr. Hung will discuss results and treatment plan at a separate consultation visit (30-45mins). This will allow adequate time for Dr. Hung to answer all of the patient’s questions regarding Vision Therapy
